SPEARFISHING
We are the OCEAN HUNTER dealers for the lower North Island.
Spearfishing has proven very popular in Wellington, for everyone from beginner’s right through to the more experienced spearo’s. No matter what the weather is doing, there is usually somewhere to get in for a dive.
Splash's spearfishing club is kicking off with regular summer spearfishing activities. The goal of the club is to get freedivers and spearo's out diving more often this season, as well as offering a place where newer spearo's can pick up some tips and experience from those more experienced. At this stage there is no charge for being a member of the spearfishing club, trips will be charged on a share cost basis. Boat charters will be charged at subsidised rates.
We will be running monthly shore based trips the first Saturday of each month starting Saturday October 1st meeting at Splash at 8am and heading to the best site on the day based on conditions. We also plan to have regular afterwork dives and boat trips both local and nationwide. To register, contact the shop 9393483 or dive@splashgordon.co.nz We will also be posting events in this forum and encourge our members to use it to look for spearo buddies and to let the group know if you are heading out for a spearfish etc.
Contact us if you are an experienced spearo and would like to be involved in helping out with the running of the club and looking after newer spearo's.
We run an annual spearfishing competition in March each year with all proceeds going to Life Flight trust.
