Kid's Snorkelling

Course Description

This programme is suitable for 8 to 14 year olds wanting to learn to snorkel safely and to learn more about underwater world.

We start with an hours training in Kilbirnie pool on a Sunday afternoon and then weather permitting, do a sea dive the following Saturday morning.  All equipment is supplied including wetsuits.  All in water activity is well supervised by trained staff.

The programme is run in support of The Marine Education Centre in Island Bay, a non profit charitable organisation, focused on conservation through education.  Check out www.octopus.org.nz to see when their next open day is and have a look at some of the underwater creatures you may encounter on your sea dive.

Spectators at the pool session will need to pay their own entry fee.

Parents are welcome to join us for the sea dive, $25 to hire snorkelling equipment.
