Hi Everyone

The weather doesn't look too promising for diving this weekend, so there are no planned boat charters. We will however try for a dive club shore dive on Saturday morning and car pool to wherever we can get in for a dive. Well done to everyone that took advantage of our winter specials in July.

DIVE CLUB SHORE DIVE

Saturday morning, meeting at Splash at 9.30am and leaving at 10am.

BOAT CHARTERS

Saturday 21st 9.30am at Splash for one crayfish dive, Advanced divers only

Sunday 22nd 2pm launch at Evans bay for one dive on the wreck of the South Seas, Advanced divers only

To celebrate the two year anniversary of Taputeranga Marine Reserve, weather permitting we will be running two charters on Saturday August 28th within the reserve. A great chance to see how the marine life has increased and take some photos.. The times below are the launching times.

9.30am advanced dive, a 24 meter dive suitable for advanced divers

12.30pm beginners dive, a shallow boat dive suitable for all levels of diver and we will have guides available

KEEP DIVING THROUGH WINTER IN A DRYSUIT
Scubapro have a special offer on their Everdry4 drysuit package, which includes the drysuit, undergarment, accessory pack and heavy duty boots all for just $1,995.  Apollo are offering a free hood with all their drysuits. It doesn't take long before a drysuit pays for itself and if you look after the suit properly, you will still have it in ten years time.

OUR PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION is underway. This months actergory is scallop diving and the photo has to have a scallop in it, whether it is underwater or on your plate. Take a photo and bring in a hardcopy to go on the noticeboard, open to everyone.  The top three photo's of the year will recieve some great prizes.

DIVE TRIPS


These are proving more and more popular every year, many are being booked out 6 months ahead of time. Poor Knights is now full for October and January, we have also filled two White Island trips.

NAPIER AQUARIUM
October 1st to 3rd
Includes two nights accommodation, full cooked breakfast both days, Saturday diving the aquarium and feeding the sharks and stingrays, this is a great experience and a cheap weekend away doing something different.  $295 or $275 for dive club members.

TAUPO WAIKATO RIVER October 29th to 31st - Join Dave on this trip which includes four dives in Lake Taupo and a drift dive down the Waikato River. 3 nights accommodation, full breakfast and lunch for two days, tank hire and airfills. $295 plus share transport costs. Complete your deep specialty course $200, altitude specialty $125 or advanced ow $200.

POOR KNIGHTS Easter 2011 April 22nd to 25th
This is always a great trip, with warmer waters, good visibility and amazing marine life.  Do as much or as little diving as you like, it's your trip.  Complete it with a Photography, Deep or Night Specialty ($175) or Advanced Course ($250) for a little extra.  $795 includes 5 nights accommodation, meals while on charter, tanks / weights and transfers from Whangarei Airport if needed.  Airfills at $8 payable directly to the skipper at the end of your trip.
